Across many education systems, career guidance is still largely based on subject combinations and limited career awareness. Yet today’s world demands something far more powerful — structured mentoring, that helps young people understand themselves, explore opportunities, and prepare for evolving global careers. At POTMAC, we are committed to helping schools move toward modern career mentoring cultures that truly prepare students for the future.
Starting Out
In the beginning, before POTMAC became a reality, there was Auntie Molly, fondly known as Auntie Mo. She embodied the spirit of a true guidance champion, inspiring us with her kindness and unwavering belief in the power of goodness. Auntie Mo offered us her garage as our first office, where we started with nothing but passion and a dream to enhance career guidance. We used to call ourselves ‘career mentoring activists,’ a title we still hold dear.
She represented the spirit of guidance, kindness, and genuine concern for the growth of others. Her ability to encourage, inspire, and uplift those around her demonstrated the profound impact that thoughtful mentoring can have on a person’s life.
Her influence helped shape the founding philosophy of POTMAC — the belief that the right guidance at the right moment can transform a person’s future. Today, that belief continues to guide everything we do.

To this day, we gather for our weekend meetings, celebrating acts of service and empowering individuals through career mentoring training. We strive to remain true to our commitment. The circle in our logo pays tribute to Auntie Mo, representing the circle where we used to gather to celebrate acts of service, kindness, and career growth. She was called Auntie Mo because she always strived to give ‘More’ of herself.”
